Osprey Nest Building


It has been nearly two months since the grounds of Fort Pickens located on the far West end of Pensacola Beach Florida has been open until today (5/16/20). So I was out there early this morning under clear blues skies where I photogrpahed this Osprey in the process of working on its nest. To capture this shot I used the Sony A7RM4 with the Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens. This was a handheld shot at 1/2000 sec at f/6.3 with ISO 250. Post Processing with Adobe Lightroom.

Black Skimmer


The Black Skimmers are back along the causeway between Navarre Beach and Navarre Florida. Photographed this Skimmer after it had gone out for an evening meal. Shot with the Sony A7RM4 using the Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens. This was a handheld shot at 1/2000 sec at f/6.3 with ISO 400. Post processing with Adobe Lightroom Classic. Be safe!

Two Ospreys


Photographed these two Ospreys hanging around thier nest on the grounds of Fort Pickens on the West end of Pensacola Beach Florida. Used the Sony A7R4 with the Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. Camera was mounted on a Gimble/Tripod. Camera setting were 1/1250 at f/8.0 ISO 400. Post processing with Adobe Lightroom Classic and Skylum Luminar 4.

The Balancing Act


This Osprey was doing a balancing act as it landed on the nest on the grounfs of Fort Pickens on the West end of Pensacola Beach Florida. Captured with the Sony A7RM4 using the Sony FE 200-600mm F 5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens. Camera was mounted on a gimbal. Camera setting were 1/1250 sec at f/8.0 with ISO 250. Post processing with Adobe Lightroom Classic.

The Osprey Wing Spread


Been out at Fort Pickens on the West end of Pensacola Beach Florida this pst week photographing the Ospreys. Photogrpahed this Osprey as she was spreading its wings as it came in for a landing on the nest. Captured this shot using the Sony A7RM4 with the Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. Camera was mounted on a Gimbal/tripod with camera settings of: 1/1250 sec a f/8.0 with ISO 250. Post processing with Adobe Lightroom Classic and Luminar 4. Cheers!

The Landing


Well it’s that of year when you start to see Opreys near the Fort Pickens area on the west end of Pensacola Beach Florida. Photographed this Osprey on Monday morning March 9th making its landing on a nest that it is in the process of building. With this shot I used the Sony A7RM4 with the Sony FE 200-600mm F 5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. This was a handheld shot at 1/2000 sec at f/6.3 with ISO 100. Post processing with Adobe Lightroom Classic. Taking Off


Photographed this Brown Pelican as it was taking off from the bay after doing a dive for its meal. Location was the bay near Fort Pickens on the West end of Santa Rosa Island in Florida. Captured with the Sony A9 using the Sony 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. This was a handheld shot 1/2000 sec at f/6.3 ISO 640. Post processing in Lightroom Classic along with Luminar 4. Cheers!
