The Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron

After shooting with Sony since 2012 (when I first started with mirrorless) I am in the process of switching to OM (formally Olympus). Before Sony I shot with Canon. Have traded in some of my Sony gear. So far I have picked up the OM-1 Mark II along with the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm f/5-6.3 IS Lens, OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO Lens and the OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO II Lens. Plan to trade in more of my Sony gear soon and add another OM body and more lines. I do all of my trading and purchasing local with Gulf Coast Camera located in Pensacola Florida. Been dealing with them for years and the owner I have known since before 2012. He is always willing to work with me with my trades.
So fare I am enjoying this transition to the OM system even though there is a learning curve. Actually I have found it fairly easy. I know it’s only a 20 megapixel camera and coming from Sony 61 megapixel is a change. But for the type of photography I doing these days it’s just fine. To tell the truth I find it fun using the OM-1 Mark II with the smaller lenses compared what I was carrying around with those large Sony lenses. Have cut my weight down nearly in half.
During ta recent morning captured this Great Blue Heron making its way over the bay heading West near Fort Pickens in Florida. Camera used was the ON-1 Mark II with the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm f/5-6.3 IS Lens. Camera settings were 1/6400 of a sec at f/5.0, ISO 540. Post processing with DxO PhotoLab 8. Been trying this software for a number of weeks now.
Cheers!
