On the way out early this morning (4/13/21) to cover the Blue Angels practice session on the West end of Pensacola Beach near Fort Pickens I came across this Bald Eagle. I have been photographing Ospreys for years near Fort Pickens and this is the first time I have photographed a Bald Eagle. I actually stopped the SUV on the grabbed my camera and got the shots. The Eagle was just chilling out on one of the sand dunes. This is where is pays to have your camera ready to at all times. Be safe!
This Osprey was high up in the pine trees heading to its nest carry as large twig with its powerful talons. This shot was done on the grounds of Fort Pickens located on the far West end of Pensacola Beach Florida.

Well it’s that of year when you start to see Opreys near the Fort Pickens area on the west end of Pensacola Beach Florida. Photographed this Osprey on Monday morning March 9th making its landing on a nest that it is in the process of building. With this shot I used the Sony A7RM4 with the Sony FE 200-600mm F 5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. This was a handheld shot at 1/2000 sec at f/6.3 with ISO 100. Post processing with Adobe Lightroom Classic. Cheers!
