Stormy Morning Clouds

It was a stormy looking morning as I captured this shot during a visit to Palafox Pier & Yacht Harbor located in Pensacola, Florida. Photogrpahed this scene using the Sony A7R3 with the Sony FE 16-35mm F4 ZA lens handheld. Camera setting were 1/1000 sec at f/8.0, ISO 100. Post processing with Lightroom Classic and Skylum Flex. Cheers!

Pelican Hanging Out

This Pelican was just haning out and taking it easy on the dock behind Joe Patti’s Seafood & Market located in Pensacola, Florida. With this shot I used the Sony A9 with the new Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens. Camera setting were i/500 sec at f/6.3, ISO 400. Camera was mounted on a monopod. Post processing with Lightroom Classic and Skylum Flex. Cheers!

Meal Time!

This seagull was enjoying a morning meal on the dock behind Joe Patti’s Seafood & Market early this Sunday morning. With this shot I used the Sony A9 with the new Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens. Had the camera set to crop sensor mode to give me a 900mm reach. It only gave me a 10.53 MB file. Once I recieve the Sony A7RiV using the same setting will give me about a 26MB file. Camera setting were 1/500 sec at f/6.3, ISO 100 with camera mounted on a monopod. Post processing with Lightroom Classic and Skylum Flex.
I will say so far even though I have only had this lens a couple of days I am enjoying using it. The tracking with this lens on the A9 is great. I do enjoy the internal zoom on this lens. Still need to do more testing. But overall it’s definitely worth the price. Cheers!

Running Of The Bulls

 The Running Of The Bulls

On the morning of Saturday July 20th,  it was The Pensacola Running of the Bullstime that took place through the streets of downtown Pensacola, Florida. This event is modeled after the world famous Festival of San Ferminin Pamplona, Spain. Even though it was a cloudy overcast morning with rain in sight, the event drew a large turnout. As the runners took off, The Bulls were not far behind. Of course, the runners must make it through the harsh The Gauntletat the end of their run.

Rules & Safety
( from https://pensabulls.com/about)

Run at Your Own Risk

Participants are not allowed to touch, push, kick, or otherwise physically engage the bulls. Bulls are only allowed to “gore” runners on the rear with their bats. Medical assistance is available for trips and falls.

Race-Day Attire

The traditional attire for San Fermin consists of a white shirt paired with white pants or shorts, a red neckerchief, and red sash or belt.  Here, it is recommended that all participants wear traditional attire to help the bulls distinguish race participants from onlookers. Alternatively, they can wear any bullfighting or Spanish-themed costume that gets them in the spirit – Viva San Fermin!

Sidewalk = Safety

The bulls are trained to avoid participants seeking safety on the sidewalks. The bulls have also been instructed not to strike a fallen runner on the pavement. Smart runners check their surroundings before standing up – colliding with a rolling bull is no fun!

The event brings out both young and old runners that are dressed in white and red. The Bulls are on rollerblades as they chase the runners throughout the streets of downtown Pensacola. If you are ever in the Pensacola during this event you should definitely attend. Or better yet, get chased by the bulls.
